Description
The Intuit 1099 E-File Service makes it EASY for small businesses to file 1099s in minutes.
Easy Data Entry
If you use QuickBooks 2011 and newer, the Intuit 1099 E-File Service will import data from your QuickBooks desktop file and save you time from entering your data online. If you do not have QuickBooks or any other Intuit software, you can fill out a simple online form to prepare Form 1099-MISC.
It does not work with versions older than QuickBooks 2011.
Print 1099 Forms Instantly
Print copies for your vendors and for your own records on plain paper. The Intuit 1099 E-File Service does not support printing on pre-printed or perforated forms at this time.
Electronically File in Minutes
Once you have verified your company and vendor information on Form 1099-MISC, a click of a button will file it electronically with the IRS. And for 32 states, the IRS shares your e-filed information with the state agency, simplifying your state filings. You must still check with your state on any additional filing or tax payment requirements. The service supports only boxes 1-14 on the 1099-MISC form.

Beware - takes a week to file
Doesn't seem to sync with Quickbooks for Mac and after paying $39.95, which is crazy to begin with, I find out it takes a week to file which means it will be late. I even called support and they confirmed it will be late if you file within a week of the deadline. I went to filetaxes.com and tax1099.com and both confirmed if you file before the deadline it is on time and it gets transmitted the same day you file. They also happen to be a much lower cost.

Missing one important items
After the 1099's are submitted, there is not a way to print (nicely) a list of the contractors with "submitted to IRS". I had to try to print the webpage which kept cutting off important info. I wanted proof that it was submitted and what was submitted. especially since last years efiled 1099s (from a different service) never seemed to get to the SSA as notices were received by numberous clients.

Another Intuit ripoff
Intuit takes advantage of the new 1099 e-file requirement by overcharging for this service.
They charge my clients $300 bucks for their "enhanced" payroll subscription. Why can't they throw this in as part of their enhanced or assisted payroll package and a discounted rate for basic payroll customers? They charge me over $800 to be a ProAdvisor with payroll. Same question. Why don't they provide it free as part of getting any of their Premier versions?
I don't mind paying a small fee to e-file, say $5 for the first one and $1.00 for each one thereafter to a maximum of $39.

Only thing it is is inexpensive
The fact that you have to print and mail your own copies to the vendors stinks, and the fact that the system does NOT save the infor year to year stinks double. Also, the tabbing between fields is awkward, and the fact the default is always a business versus and individual is inconvenient as you cannot change it.
All it is is cheap. And the truly abysmal customer service at Intuit is just icing on the cake (or samosa, as it were).

Perfect for boutique Law Firm
I don't understand the bad reviews either if you have hundred's of 1099's to do then perhaps you should do more research and pick a different program. However this APP was great for our firm needs, simple and easy to use. Intuit don't change the ease of use of this program. Some of us are just to busy to learn a new program just to process 1099's. THANK YOU !!

Sad excuse for an eFile system..
If you are a Quickbooks Online user then you have to manually enter all the employee data into each form. The forms are eFiled with the IRS but you still have to print the forms and mail them to your vendors. If I was going to bother printing out all these forms and mailing them to the vendors then why bother eFiling them with the IRS?
Try Track1099.com or some alternative. Anything is better than manually entering in all these 1099s..

Printed forms dont line up in 1099 envelopes
Info on the 1099 does not line up with the standard 1099 envelope - address is too low and city, state not visible; tax ID numbers ARE visible; name/address block is too far right.
If you fold the paper to make it line up, then you either have to fold again at the top or cut off about a 1/4" of the paper. Its a pain and looks bad.

Garbage!
I could not get it to sync my information with Quickbooks Online. Apparently it only syncs with regular quickbooks. Thanks for telling me that! And why do they have "apps" anyway? You should just pay for expanded features within quickbooks online, pointless and confusing to launch a separate "app". Don't buy this if you are a quickbooks online customer.
