Robust, Clean, and Powerful From an I.T. perspective, MethodCRM has helped make some complicated programming much more manageable. Being able to start with seamless integration with QuickBooks has made our goals attainable in much less time than originally expected. If you want "simple", Method has an abundance of tools available that "just work" - right out of the box. If your needs require advanced customization, the tools are there - trust me. If you need consultation sessions, I can vouch for the experienced and knowledgeable staff (see Val and Ted) who are able to work with you in order to provide the most effective solution to your business needs. From CRM to service industry specific applications, if you use QuickBooks, this add-on REALLY adds-on! May 4, 2012
Great Solution I am very pleased with this solution and its flexibility, power and stability. As a former Controller, I know that businesses have two essential requirements: • Operations management (the processes that make the business successful); and • Financial management through the use of accounting software. Over my 25+ year career, I have worked with many applications designed to run the operations side that were integrated with the main accounting system. Most required "aerial acrobatics" to get the information from the operations system to the accounting system. And reconciling the two systems was always a challenge at month end. Method is the best solution for this challenge that I have seen. It is extremely customizable which means the operations management system can be designed specifically for the operational business needs AND it is very tightly integrated with QuickBooks and does not require an "heroic effort" to get the information sync'd between the two systems. It happens real-time which ensures that both systems are always up-to-date. An added benefit is that users of Method do not need to understand accounting at all. They simply need to understand their business processes. In my experience, this is an unusual combination of strengths. May 4, 2012
Have enjoyed having a CRM with total customization! We've been using Method CRM now for about 2.5 months and I can't say enough about the ease of use! And, it integrates seamlessly with our use of QB! Since we are new to using a CRM, I must take a moment to say thanks to my Method CRM consultant, Val Shabani! There are some things I don't have time to customize and Val and I have worked closely to fully customize my CRM. He's very efficient, incredibly knowledgeable and witty, too! He makes our CRM consulting partnership very worth while! Thanks Method and the whole team! Lynda R May 1, 2012
The next step Our company has been in business for almost four years. In that time, we have used a variety of tools to get all the work tracked, done, billed and paid - in some semblance of a timely manner. We recently switched to Method after reviewing for a month - because we were able to switch from (no exaggeration) seven separate systems that I had manhandled into working together - to one single system - Method. At first I was THRILLED with the idea of method, and then I started to look past the general pages, and took the many webinars and played with the screens to see exactly how much of our very varied company could be tracked in this system. It is simply amazing. It isn't out of the box what we needed. However this has always been the problem - the main difference with method is that it allows you to customize the entire experience to match your business. I won't say that it is simple point and click - there is a learning curve, but once you have mastered the basics you can do SO much with this program. SAMPLE: We have 5 arms to our company - all departments track different things, have different customers, different processes and yet we are all the same company. We have been able (with help from Valbon Shabani - our Method Guru) to create two of those departments, that use all the same tables and yet are completely different in almost every way in method. The graphics are different, the layouts are different, and yet when we push a button, it all works with QBO beautifully. We have HIGH hopes for this reducing the overhead costs for our company (indeed it is doing that already just in being cheaper than seven separate systems) and helping our customers accomplish what they need with as minimal effort on their part as possible. This is it! Great app, active community and pleasant group over at Method. I'm just over a month in and only use activities to track follow-ups. However, I'm starting to get the benefits of customizing so I plan to book some time with a consultant over there to see if this can solve some other pain points we have. Give it a shot. Good bye Excel spreadsheets I was using Excel to keep track of my leads and step-up follow up calls and it was a nightmare. I've been asking the owner to try this for a while and now he gets why it is so important. The cost we save in just being able to properly follow up with leads pays for the subscription. Good on its way to becoming great Our small company was looking to stay with Quickbooks, but at the same time to graduate from using unconnected softwares that performed different functions in the business to a single, integrated system. Method, with its great customization features on top of a clear correlation and integration with most of Quickbooks functions, allowed me to start with our central software (Quickbooks), and begin adding more functionality to replace the random contacts, shipping and inventory softwares we were using. Let me explain why "Ease of Use" only gets an average from me. In an important sense, it is VERY easy to use: the GUI customization screens are the same their own designers use, involving a simple drag and drop interface of modifiable objects like buttons, fields, calendars, etc. You have access to modifying and adding the screens your users will use to add/access info, as well as the tables that contain the actual data Method/Quickbooks uses, and the organization and appearance of these screens in both your browser and mobile device. But while the software is quite easy to dive into for simple changes, the complexity of the features and customization available makes for a steep learning curve. And this is made more difficult as the company has not yet established meaningful documentation for their software. You will find that beyond the very basic stuff, you will need direct help from their employees to figure out how to do most of the customization you want. Fortunately, their customer service is Excellent! Aside from paid customization, they have a forum that serves as a Q&A board, where their employees are quite responsive and helpful. What's more, there is an obvious cycle of improvement based on customer feedback. The software is relatively new, and it is getting better with each passing month. I've been using it in one form or another for 6 months now, and it the difference between then and now is quite noticeable. So I'm not too worried about the lack of documentation, because I know they're working on it. Features-wise, this software is great. I have yet to encounter a capability I want that could not be accommodated by their GUI customization screen and the many actions they offer. Actions, by the way, are sort of customizable pre-built functions that can be stringed together to do all sorts of complex things (it's essentially a VERY high level programming language, complete with loops and conditionals and global variables). I haven't even touched their API, but I'm comforted knowing it's there in case the complexity I need ever exceeds the standard customization interface. One negative to mention about the features: Not every feature in Quickbooks is available in Method, even though it is quite possible to customize your version to support those features. For example, Method doesn't have a "Ship to" dropdown bar to store multiple-ship to addresses for each customer, nor does it have the ability to create Purchase Orders based off of Sales Orders. But on the other hand, Method offers a few really great features that will make you wonder how Quickbooks could have gone so long without them. My favorite: you can create multiple "contacts" under each customer, allowing you to store multiple sets of info for each company - names, phone numbers, emails, etc. Another great feature is the document upload/linking ability: upload any relevant file for your business to their server, and relate it to a Customer, a Case, a Sales Order or Invoice, whatever you want. Activities/Cases are another great feature.. I could go on and on... You may, like me, become irritated by speed issues. Since this is all cloud-based, it will not perform as quickly as Quickbooks if you have a fast computer (QB is glacial on slow computers anyway). You may find yourself waiting 10-20 seconds after clicking a button to arrive at the next screen, though more consistently the wait will be 5-10 seconds - either way, it takes some patience if you're used to the immediate response of modern computers. Finally, the value: at $40/user/month (for the PRO version), this is a judgement call for you to make. I think it is worth it, especially if you take full advantage of the customization, and use Method not only as a CRM, but as a catchall for ALL your business processes. Use the API to integrate Method with your shipping software, with your online shopping cart, and sit back and watch brainless processes like redundant data entry that used to take 30 minutes now take 2 minutes. If your users use Method exclusively and stop using QB (the very thought makes me quiver with joy), then you'll only have to maintain ONE Quickbooks license for synch purposes, instead of one per user, for some significant savings. Bottom line: if you use Quickbooks and wish it could do more, Method CRM is for you. In my opinion, this is the perfect tool for the small business ready to scale up, and it is getting better all the time! March 26, 2012
More than meets the eye… We really just needed a simple way to track outstanding customer issues. After using this for a month or so, I found myself taking advantage of way more features and started testing the waters with customizing. Price is very reasonable too. March 5, 2012
